Vacation 2008 - June 13 - Yellowstone

On June 13, we woke up in our rented condo in Driggs, Idaho, had some breakfast and headed for Yellowstone National Park.  Today was spent in the area of the park where all of the hot springs and geysers are, including Old Faithful.

It was a windy, chilly day, and it was strange to think that the water in these pools was literally boiling.

Hawaiian Sunset

This photo didn't turn out very well (our camera was malfunctioning badly throughout the whole trip), but it gives you an idea how close we came to bison. They would walk right out into the street and stop traffic!

Old Faithful

While we waited for Old Faithful to erupt, we watched this geyser going off in the distance. Old Faithful isn't the only geyser in Yellowstone, nor is it the biggest. It's just the most predictable. This one was probably bigger than Old Faithful.
