Vacation 2008 - June 12 - Through the Rockies to Idaho
On June 12 we checked out of our Rapid City hotel and headed for our condo in Driggs, Idaho, just past Jackson, Wyoming. Passing through the Rockies we were caught in a bit of a snowstorm. Then as we got closer to our destination, we got our first sight of the magnificent Grand Tetons!
It was strange driving through a snowstorm in the middle of June!
Our first glimpse of the Grand Tetons
All mountains are gorgeous, but no photo can do justice to the Grand Tetons. We would see them again in a couple of days, when we would spend the whole day in Grand Teton National Park, but this first glimpse was the most breathtaking, because there was so much snow on them which would later melt. This particular evening, they looked more like glaciers than mountains.
